TRZ Year in Review 2020 - High Tide

Jord: I wrote this song at like 2am in UNO’s music building in 2017 or so. Even though we weren’t music students, Connor and I bought keys to the college’s practice rooms so we could use one their perfectly-tuned upright pianos and work late into the night (though sometimes the practice rooms were insanely busy, so you’d just hear the constant screeching of brass instruments from the next room over).

High Tide has a clear Latin-inspired rhythm, with the breakdowns leaning closer to garage rock. The lyrics are fictional (I did not get buried to the neck in sand during high tide), vaguely describing a wilting relationship where the subject can just *tell* their partner has wandering eyes.

CB: This is a song that we’ve been playing since our very first practices and shows, and it narrowly missed the cut on Strictly Platonic, so I’m glad we got to finally release it.  I like when we all yell GO. That is fun.

Enjoy some rare footage from our First Show Ever. Look at us! We are little babies! Little baby boys. Tiny babies soiling their diapers because we are so nervous about being on stage.
