The Real Zebos + IDKHOW: May 20

in case you haven’t heard, we will be opening for I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME at the Bourbon Theatre in Lincoln, NE on May 20 - that’s next tuesday holy crap

apologies for the late notice – you know we typically like to be annoying about shows for weeks in advance, but I hope this finds you in time to snag a ticket or two:

if you’re a fan of The Real Zebos there’s a pretty good chance you’re also a fan of IDKHOW, I know we are for sure. some are even calling this a “dream lineup,” “lineup of the century,” etc – their words not mine

we initially believed that Phantom Planet was opening this show (also a dream lineup) but it turns out Lincoln is one of the few cities Phantom Planet is not featured on this tour. it’s a shame, they are legends in their own right and another TRZ favorite. but if their absence leaves a spot for the little ol Zebos to hop on the bill then we’ll take it

jord’s fav Dallon / Phantom Planet songs

this one got a lot of plays on my ipod nano

this was not on my ipod but now I can safely say it’s one of the best songs ever made

say it to my face why don’t you

adorable

less adorable

we are beyond excited for this opportunity, and have been following idkhow since they were first “found” and love Dallon’s work with The Brobecks and PATD as well

jord and I went to the Panic / Weezer co-headline show at Stir Cove in 2016 and handed out some of the very first TRZ demo CDs while waiting in line. we are still friends with some of the people we met that day :) shoutout to anyone who still has one of these CDs!

water is so important

I can’t find a pic of Panic at this show but here’s Rivers Cuomo dressed like a King

we were outside in the sun for so long that day. probably didn’t drink enough water

okay now if you’ll let me have a “fuck Brendon Urie” moment:

Panic! At The Disco was my favorite band in 9th grade and I saw them at the Sokol Auditorium on the Vices & Virtues tour in 2011. I think this was the first tour Dallon was in the band?? it would have been so cool if I had a pic from this show but I can’t find one. I know I posted a video of them covering Carry On My Wayward Son and said something like “Brendon Urie is unreal” he was doing backflips off drum risers when Benson Boone was just a twinkle in his father’s eye. and when Josh Dun was just like uhhh in his 20s probably

despite that he was always the weakest songwriter in the band. Too Weird To Live, Too Rare to Die came out my senior year and was instantly one my favorite Panic albums. years later I come to find out that every good song that album was written with Dallon. now look at “Miss Jackson” – no Dallon, one of Brendon’s first attempts at pop stardom, hot garbage, sorry. and is it any coincidence that my other favorite Panic album, Pretty Odd was primarily written by Ryan Ross (legend) ??? you tell me

I posted a vine of me playing this bassline, now lost in the ether :(

anyway, time to stop writing emails and start practicing for the gig. hope to see you at there!
